Red Wine And Meat Loaf: Getting Started

I was trying to plan a Sunday meal and had no idea what it was going to be. A quick choice had to be made because it was about to become midday. Then my nephew, who dabbles in the kitchen, steps in and helps me come up with a meal that is so simple. We decided to have meatloaf, buttered broccoli with cheese, mashed potatoes, and salad.

This meal was just what my nephew wanted for dinner, for he was trying to learn how to make the meatloaf. He wants to see how I make the juicy meatloaf so he can cook it himself one day. Let’s Start!

Meat Loaf And Red Wine

Meat Loaf Recipe

  • 21/2 lbs of hamburger meat (this depends on how big a meatloaf you want).
  • 3 or 4 slices of bread (sandwich bread)
  • Onion, medium size (may use onion of your choice.)
  • Stalk of celery
  • Bell pepper (use 1/2 of it)
  • Green onion
  • Egg –
  • 3 cans of tomato sauce

Directions

You get your bread, wet it, squeeze the water out gently, and use your hands to mix it well with hamburger meat until you cannot tell that bread is in the meat. Cut up onion, celery, bell pepper, and green onion. Mix in hamburger meat. Then, mix the egg very well. Shape hamburger meat to the size you want. Cover your pan. Place it in the oven. Wait until the hamburger meat starts cooking, then pour tomato sauce over the meat.

Bake at 400 degrees for approximately 2 hours.

Broccoli With Cheese

  • Broccoli, fresh or frozen
  • 1/4 small Onion
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • grated cheese

Directions

Place the broccoli in a pot with a small amount of water. Cut onion. Cook on medium heat for about 15 minutes. Salt and pepper to taste. You can melt the cheese and pour it over the broccoli, or leave the melted cheese to be put on the broccoli individually. It does not take broccoli long to cook, so do not overcook.

Mashed Potatoes

  • Potatoes (white)
  • Milk
  • Butter
  • Salt

Directions

Cook potatoes until soft; mash with a potato masher or blender. Add milk and butter, and beat until fluffy.

Vegetable Salad

  • Lettuce
  • Tomato
  • Cucumber
  • Grated cheese

Now you have the best simple meal that you can prepare in a few minutes. Then I added a bottle of Night Guardian Red Wine. This is the Fine Wine I received from our Wine of the Month Club. Together, I paired this Night Guardian red wine with this meal to make it an elegant meal.

This wine is sent to me every month, straight to my front door. I don’t have to go to a wine store or grocery store to spend hours trying to decide which one to buy. It is chosen for me by experts who know their wines.
